Dave is the loving father of the Chipmunks despite Alvin driving him crazy in most the the 80s cartoons and the Live action movies..Like any other single parent trying to raise 3 kids, Dave has his patience tested on a daily basis. Dave is actually based on the creator of "Alvin and the Chipmunks", and the real creator of the entire series (Ross Bagdasarian Sr.) whose stage name was "David Seville".Dave's rival and roommate was Ian Hawke in the live action movies. Dave's adoptive sons are Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. Dave's love interest was Claire Wilson in the 2007 live action movie.
